Dave Clark.

Wellwishers are being invited to line the route of the funeral procession for a popular Richmond teacher.

Richmond School deputy head Dave Clark died on Monday evening while walking his dogs near the town.

A private funeral service will be held at St Mary’s Church, Richmond, on Thursday, October 1 at 2pm.

The funeral procession will travel to the school at around 1.40pm.

It will then make its way into the market place at around 1.45pm, before heading to St Mary’s.

The teacher was very popular with hundreds of messages of condolence being left on social media.

His family have invited people to line the route on Thursday, with some people expected to wear tartan in the Scottish teacher’s memory.

Wellwishers can watch the service via Youtube here.

  1. Great memories of Dave from Manor School. Our youngest son was captain of the only rugby team of the school to win the county cup, this was all down to the enthusiasm Dave put into the boys some of whom had never played before. He was a great teacher who was always tough, firm but always far in his rules of behaviour in school & was very highly respected by all of the pupils.
Our thoughts & prayers are with all of his family.
