Wensleydale artist to exhibit work made from wool fibres

Artist Elli Sarri-Neate.

An exhibition featuring art made by a local artist using wool fibres will take place later this month.

Elli Sarri-Neate, who is based in Aysgarth, specialises in using wool fibres to create paintings and animal sculptures, inspired by the environment and natural habitat in Wensleydale.

The exhibition at Leyburn Arts Centre runs from October 28 to November 2.

It will feature needle felted and wet felted pictures of animals, and sheep scenery made with wool fibres layered and blended until they look like a painting.

A small selection of needle felted animals and wool sculptures will be part of the exhibition.

On October 28, Elli is offering a pumpkin needle felted workshop for adults running from 1.30pm to 4.30 pm.

Bookings can be made through Leyburn Arts and Community Centre at www.leyburnartscentre.com
