Wensleydale’s roller coaster ride through Yorkshire 3 took a tumble at Baildon losing 25 points to 13.
Without a trio of skiers Dale welcomed back skipper Will Allman up front.
A series of drives to the line lead by Allman, Dixon and Metcalfe eventually brought a try for Carl Burnett.
Nathan Bishoprick slotted an excellent touchline conversion.
Dales all out attack has gained them two promotions in three seasons and continues to be the approach.
Occasionally it can lead to problems like when you decide to run a kickable penalty only for a long pass to be intercepted by a Baildon player for an eighty metre try.
Dale struggled for awhile after that and gave away some silly penalties allowing the hosts to go ahead.
Dangerous scrum half Paul Smith broke away feeding Bishoprick on the wing about thirty metres out. The strong running winger was hauled into touch only inches short.
Baildon seized possession and ran hard, Dale defended well initially but failed to clear giving away a score.
Bishoprick replied with another penalty. When breaks were made by centres Wes Patterson and Fergus Chapman that final pass failed to go to hand.
20 – 13 down and last play. Dale attacked again only for a loose pass to be snaffled by a Baildon player leading to a score. Lots still to play for, next league game is at home to Airebrough on March 25th.
