Wensleydale chemist offers covid-19 booster jab clinic

A Wensleydale chemists is offering a walk-in covid-19 booster jab clinic.

The clinic at Central Dales Pharmacy, Hawes, is aimed at those who are aged 75 years or over.

It is being held on Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm for the rest of the June or until stocks last. The spring booster campaign ends on June 30.

Organisers say that you may have to queue so come prepared.

To avoid waiting, you can book your appointment by going online on National Booking System or ringing 119.

Who can attend:

  • People eligible for seasonal booster (spring booster) (aged 75 and over (or turning 75 by 30th June), and people with weak immune system (or received NHS invite for spring booster)
  • Not had Covid in last 4 weeks

 About the walk-in clinic:

  • Clinic will be on a first come, first served basis. There may be queues at busy times so people should come prepared for the weather and bring a drink of water. You will also need a mask or face covering.
  • If there is high demand and supplies are used up, clinic may have to close early. This will be communicated via social media.
  • People who already have an appointment booked should still attend at their timed slot and they will receive their vaccine as planned. Appointments can still be booked at www.nhs.uk/CovidVaccination or by calling 119.
  • If you have any questions about the vaccine before having it, you will be able to discuss these with a member of staff first.
