A Wensleydale children’s author is to open a visitor centre for people to meet the stars of her books.
Hannah Russell started writing about her miniature Shetland pony Little Alf in 2014.
She has since written a series of books about the pony and his friends.
Visitors to Swinton Green, which is due to open in Masham in June, will be able to meet stars of the book.
Hannah said: “I always wanted to create a centre where people could come along, meet the animals from the books and book on experience days where they could get a connection from the animal but also take something away from the visit.
“I’m not creating a petting farm but a place to make memories with animals.
“I’ll be working with a few different charities but also offering experiences such as alpaca walking.”
Hannah hopes to host courses and workshops at the centre, including animal husbandry sessions aimed for first time small holders and pet first aid.
