Wensleydale churches launch pantry for those in need

Items in the church pantry.

Two Wensleydale churches have launched a pantry which provides free food and hygiene products to those in need.

The pantry is now open at both Redmire and Castle Bolton churches.

Both are open 24/7 and situated at the back of the churches.

People are being asked to donate suitable foodstuffs and hygiene products.

Those in need are being invited to call in at the most convenient church and help themselves to whatever groceries they need.

The service is free and not dependant on referral from professional agencies.

It is also confidential and entirely non-judgemental.

Posters  about the service have gone up in GPS surgeries, pharmacies, opticians, libraries and Leyburn Auction Mart.

The benefice is also working in collaboration with the Farming Community Network to raise awareness about the scheme.
