The Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes has teamed up with award-winning pastel artist Lucy Pittaway to host an ongoing art exhibition at its visitor centre.
The Lucy Pittaway exhibition, which opened to visitors this week, features pieces from the iconic ‘The Cows’, ‘The Sheep’ and ‘Cycling and Le Tour’ collections, and is currently on display in the 1897 Coffee Shop at The Wensleydale Creamery.
Crowned the UK’s Up & Coming Artist of the Year by the Fine Art Trade Guild, Lucy is most renowned for her sheep-themed collection.
Her art is inspired by the Yorkshire Dales, and depicts her daily life, family and experiences.
Lucy has been named official artist for the Tour de Yorkshire for a second year running.
David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “Lucy shares our pride and passion of Yorkshire and the beautiful Dales landscape, and we are honoured to join forces to exhibit her beautiful collection of artwork here at The Wensleydale Creamery.”
The Creamery will be one of the first places the public can view a special print of Lucy’s artwork for the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire from the March 22.
Lucy said: “Home to the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese and located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, The Wensleydale Creamery is the ideal place to showcase my artwork which pays tribute to the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside.
