Wensleydale hotel produces charity naked calendar

The Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton has decided that bare cheek – and bare everything else – was the best way to raise cash for a good cause very close to their hearts.

Staff at the hotel and restaurant have posed for a naked calendar which will be sold to raise funds for Racing Welfare.

Earlier this year the hotel was proud to welcome HRH The Princess Royal, the President of Racing Welfare, as guest of honour at a very special charity dinner which was held to launch the Hill House Appeal, which aims to provide accommodation for young people starting out in their careers within the local racing community.

As well as donating all profits from the dinner to the charity, the Heifer wanted to raise even more money for the cause and decided to undertake their second naked calendar.

The latest edition sees owner David Moss enjoying a pint at the bar while rather under dressed for the occasion while other team members have a rather draughty lunch.

Sommelier Vince looks festive with some tinsel adorned wine covering his modesty while the chefs, kitchen team and gardener from the Heifer all also get cheeky in the name of charity.

David said: “We were deeply honoured to welcome Princess Anne to the Heifer earlier this year and to work alongside Racing Welfare to raise money and awareness of the Hill House Appeal.

“Many of our guests are involved in the many racing stables throughout Yorkshire and we wanted to contribute to the extremely worthy cause of Racing Welfare.

“As anyone who has visited the Heifer will know, we do like to take a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ approach to many aspects of our work and we wanted to extend that to our charity efforts. We hope the calendar raises both a chuckle and lots of money for Racing Welfare and the really important work they do locally.”

The calendar is available for sale at The Wensleydale Heifer and a donation of £10 is requested for each copy.
