Wensleydale pub will reopen under new management, says brewery

The Crown Inn, in Hawes.

The owners of a popular Wensleydale pub say the inn will reopen once new managers have been found.

The Crown Inn in Hawes shut at the weekend.

But owners Star Pubs, part of Heineken UK, say the closure is only temporary.

A spokesperson for the Star said: “Unfortunately the Crown Inn in Hawes closed temporarily on Sunday 3rd December.

“We are now looking for a new operator to take over the running of this beautiful village pub as quickly as possible, which attracts locals and visitors from far afield and has a great reputation.

“The ideal operator will enjoy village life and understand the needs of the regulars and visitors alike, embracing the current food offer and building on this to extend the busy lunchtime and weekend trade into the evenings.”
