Wensleydale Railway says it is continuing its travel discount scheme for local residents.
Local residents can enjoy a 25 per cent discount off scheduled train services at Wensleydale Railway all year round.
The offer is open to people who live in postcodes DL6 to DL11 inclusive and YO7 and HG4.
Show the ticket office a document with your postcode details on it , such as a driving licence or utility bill, at the time of booking to receive the discount.
Nick Keegan, fundraising and marketing Manager at Wensleydale Railway, said: “We have been operating our local residents’ discount scheme for over 10 years and recognise that now, more than ever, value for money is very important to our customers.”
“It’s human nature to often under-appreciate what is right on your own doorstep, in favour of travelling further afield for days out.
“With our local residents’ discount and kids for a quid travel offer, a visit to our volunteer-led community railway is a superb value day out in the Yorkshire Dales for the whole family”

Thanks for publicizing this, of which I wasn’t aware. It will still be more expensive than the bus but will make a change.
Unfortunately there’s no facility for booking reduced-rate tickets on the website.
