Wensleydale road reopens after serious accident

The emergency services were called to a serious accident in Wensleydale today.

The A689 between Bainbridge and Aysgarth was closed for several hours following the single vehicle collision.

A Vauxhall Mokka collided with a wall and overturned.

It is understood a male motorist was trapped in the vehicle.

Firefighters from Hawes and Reeth attended the scene.

Police, paramedics from  Yorkshire Ambulance Service and an air ambulance also attended after being called at around 3.35pm.

The road has now reopeneed and the vehicle has been recovered.
