Wensleydale School to stage first musical in five years

The Wensleydale School will stage its first musical in five years next month.

Pupils have been preparing for High School Musical on Stage over the last two terms.

Music teacher Josh Hadfield said: “Students from all year groups have come together doing something they love and we are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment our students have shown.”

Disney’s High School Musical on Stage centers on the blossoming relationship between Troy, a high school jock, and Gabriella, the new smart girl at school.

“They meet on a family vacation and become attracted to each other while singing in a karaoke competition. Rediscovering each other at school, their relationship and their surprise decision to audition together for the school show are thwarted by the school’s current leading lady, Sharpay, and Troy and Gabriella’s well-meaning friends.

Full of catchy songs and exciting dance routines, Disney’s High School Musical on Stage! explores issues of friendship, first love, and acceptance.

Josh added: “We are all looking forward to showcasing the talent and skill of the students of The Wensleydale School and Sixth Form.

“We hope each evening will be a celebration of what they have achieved this year.

“We would, therefore, like to invite you to attend the production and support the young people of our community.”
