Wensleydale siblings Robbie Bright and Katherine Bright have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Universal Trench European Championships, taking place in Valencia, Spain, from 9 to 12 July.
The pair earned their places on the national team after competing in four separate Great Britain selection shoots across late 2025 and early 2026, marking a rare achievement in the sport as siblings selected for the same GB trap clay shooting squad.
In an unusual twist, another set of siblings has also been selected for this year’s team.
It is the first time Robbie Bright has been chosen to represent Great Britain, while his sister Katherine Bright has previously competed for the GB women’s team.
Robbie, who lives in Wensleydale and works as a natural history specialist, auctioneer and valuer at Tennants Auctioneers, returned to competitive shooting in 2016 after a 25-year break from the sport.
He is sponsored by Tennants Auctioneers this year.
Reflecting on his early involvement in the sport, Robbie said he first developed his passion for clay pigeon shooting as a youngster, encouraged by his father and sister.
He also recalled achieving a “perfect 100 straight” in trap shooting, noting his competitive family background.
