The much-delayed junction improvements at the White Shops in Catterick Garrison are on course to be completed by November 24.
Neil Linfoot, area manager for highways at North Yorkshire County Council, told members of Colburn Town Council last night that the work could be finished before that target date.
He said the next step would be to remove the temporary traffic lights and put the permanent lights in place, which would then be tested.
This story continues after the adverts:
He told councillors some work such as reseeding may continue after the roads had fully reopened.
Discussions are ongoing about stylish new benches that councillors want on the roadside at the junction.
Neil said the county council was unlikely to pay for the type of benches wanted by the town council, however he had approached developer Esh about providing funding for the street furniture.

Thought the work was only going to take 8 weeks in the first place? If so not finishing early. AmI wrong I wonder. Good nees nevertheless.
Just wanted to ask who is developer esh? And why would they be paying for new benches? Please advise
