Wind blows roof off cricket pavilion

The roof was blown off a cricket pavilion yesterday as Storm Malik caused disruption across the district.

The damage was caused to the pavilion in Aldbrough St John.

The emergency services were called to a number of other incidents.

A spokesperson for Richmond fire station said: “Storm Malik has certainly kept crews across the county busy.

“We have dealt with numerous dangerous structures, including incidents on Finkle street and in Richmond market place.

“But the most dramatic was this incident at Albrough St John when this roof blown off the cricket pavilion.

“With weather warnings still in place untill tomorrow night. Please continue to make sure household furniture items are secure.”
