Richmond Golf Club held its inaugural Gents’ Knockout Finals Day at the weekend, with five club trophies decided despite challenging weather conditions.

The event took place on Saturday, September 12, with competitors battling wind and rain during the five knockout finals.

Organisers said that despite the difficult conditions, some excellent golf was played throughout the day.

The Pease Trophy was won by Carl Handley, while John Lancaster and Ash Green combined to claim the Foursomes Trophy.

Ryan Howe was victorious in the Catt Trophy, with Steve Morris winning the Seniors Matchplay competition.

The fifth trophy of the day, the Culver Trophy, was won by Keith Tate.

The finals day was organised by Richmond Golf Club’s Gents’ Competition Secretary Guy Pini.

He thanked everyone who helped make the first staging of the event a success.

Guy said: “Thanks to all the competitors, caddies, supporters, green staff, bar staff and referees in making this day truly special.”
