Woman cut free after car and military vehicle collide

A woman had to be cut free after the car she was driving was involved in a collision with a military vehicle yesterday.

The incident occurred near Half Penny House, between Leyburn and Catterick Garrison and Richmond, at about 11.10am.

The car was involved in a collision with a Wolfhound armoured vehicle.

The woman had to be cut free by firefighters and was then treated at the scene for superficial injuries.

Crews from Leyburn, Richmond and Colburn attended the incident.

The road was closed until 12.10am while the vehicles were removed.

Military officers help to direct traffic while the emergency services worked at the scene.
