Woman finds rings – but doesn’t hand them in

Police are appealing for help to trace a woman who found two rings at a coffee morning – but never handed them in.

The woman, who said she was called Karen from Northallerton, found the jewellery at an event on May 5 at Bedale Church Hall.

However, she did not hand them over to the organisers at the event, or later to the police.

Instead, she left a phone number.

However, a police spokesperson said: “She left her name and number at the coffee morning, but the number just rings out, and the lady who lost the rings has found out it is a telephone box.

“We would ask ‘Karen’ to contact Bedale Police Station so we can arrange for the rings to be returned.”

Karen, or anyone who knows who she might be, can call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
