Woman injured in house fire in Richmond

A woman suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation in a house fire in Richmond yesterday.

Crews from Richmond and Colburn were called to the incident at 9.26pm on Saturday night.

The fire was in soft furnishings in the bedroom of the house and was out on arrival.

The fire was out on arrival of the Fire Brigade.

A female in her 50s suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation.

She was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

Crews provided first aid and provided oxygen to the occupant.

Crews used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and a first aid kit.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has not released the name of the street where the fire occurred.
