Woman killed in A66 accident named

A woman killed in an accident on the A66 last month has been named as police continue to appeal for information on the crash.

Kerstin Hanke, 55, was travelling in a VW Touran, which was foreign-registered, when it was involved in a collision with a red Scania HGV.

The other occupant of the VW was seriously injured.

The collision occurred at 9.45am on Friday, March 21.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The woman who died in the collision has been named as Kerstin Hanke, 55, from Bünde, Germany. Her family are receiving support from specially-trained officers.

“Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses, information, and any dashcam footage of the vehicles involved in the collision.”
