Woman killed in A66 accident

The Ravensworth junction on the A66.

A woman died in an accident on the A66 last week, police have confirmed.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following the collision at the Ravensworth junction.

The collision occurred at 9.45am on Friday, March 21, and involved a red VW Touran, which was foreign-registered, and a red Scania HGV.

Sadly, one of the occupants of the VW, a woman in her 50s, died following the collision.

The other occupant was seriously injured.

Anyone who was travelling on the A66 and saw the collision, or the manner of driving of a foreign-registered VW or a red Scania, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
