Work by a student photographer has gone on display at the Garden Rooms at Tennants.

James Allinson started taking pictures in 2012 when he got a new GoPro camera.

After studying at the Wensleydale School, he went to Darlington College and started taking photography more seriously and became interested in adventure and sport photography.

He also likes to take pictures of the night sky.

James said: “For the past year now I have produced work featuring landscapes and night skies of the UK.

“I have been inspired to photograph landscapes because it’s easily accessible, it has always been the place I’ve spent a lot of time exploring growing up and I enjoy been out in the fells, exploring a wide variety of the views the Dales has to offer.”

James is currently in his final year at Leeds Art University and studying a BA (Hons) in photography.

After graduating he would like to be a freelance photographer working nationally and internationally.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to display my work  at Tennants for my very first exhibition.

“It has been great to hear the positive feedback on the prints — the ability to share my work from the Dales locally is invaluable to me. I look forward to potentially doing more exhibitions in the future.”

The exhibition runs until February 28.
