One of the world’s most famous brass bands is to return to Leyburn for a concert next year.
Black Dyke Band will perform at The Garden Rooms at Tennants on Saturday, March 20, 2027, following its previous sell-out appearance at the venue in 2023.
The Yorkshire-based band has a history stretching back more than 170 years, having been founded in 1855.
It has won numerous national and international championships and is regarded as one of the most successful brass bands in history.
The ensemble is also said to be the most recorded band in the world, with more than 350 recordings to its name.
Since its first appearance at The Garden Rooms three years ago, the band has continued to tour internationally.
The programme for its return to Leyburn will combine traditional brass band repertoire with contemporary favourites.
Band secretary John O’Brien said: “The world’s most famous brass band, Black Dyke is delighted to make a return visit to The Garden Rooms at Tennants.
“The only brass band to have a No.1 album in the official Classical Music chart, the only brass band to have appeared on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and also a highlight of the 2026 BBC Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, the pedigree of Black Dyke is unparalleled.”
Organisers say the concert will provide a rare opportunity for audiences in North Yorkshire to hear the internationally renowned ensemble in the intimate surroundings of The Garden Rooms.
Tennants’ Paul Freeman said: “We are delighted to welcome Black Dyke Band back to The Garden Rooms.
“Their reputation for excellence is known throughout the musical world, and we are thrilled to be bringing such an iconic ensemble to Leyburn.
