A woman who learnt the principles of yoga during a solo trip to the foothills of the Himalayas is passing on what she learnt to others.
Nicole Vibrans travelled to India last year. During the trip she endured intense physical and theoretical training in ashtanga and vinyasa yoga, experienced various cleansing techniques, ancient breathing practises and the art of chanting mantras.
The 29-year-old who lives in Richmond said the combination of solo travel and intense daily yoga practise made her grow as a person.
This story continues after the adverts:
“Not only did my confidence and self-esteem increase, but I found that self awareness, getting to know how strong ones mind can be, bringing a true connection between your mind and body was such a powerful yet magnificent feeling.”
She added: “I loved the early mornings starting at 5am although I did find the cleansing techniques quite daunting to start with.
“One of my least favourites – threading a thin rubber tube all the way through your nose until you reach in and pull it out from the back of your mouth – was not the most pleasant but I soon became accepting of this doing it as it was on our daily schedule before any practise could begin.”
On qualifying and arriving back in the UK, Nicole launched Vibrant Nicole Yoga and began running classes and retreats across Richmondshire.
She added: “I find my clients benefit from a physical and emotional release, building flexibility, increased range of movement and physical strength.
“Even practising yoga once a week massively increases their overall awareness and how to deal with stressful situations in general being more conscious of what happening within themselves and around them.”
Nicole is available for private yoga training, small group sessions and offers various packages to suit personal requirements.
She is also running the Ultimate Christmas retreat at Marrick in Swaledale on December 14. Booking closes on November 30.
New classes are also starting in January at Middleton Lodge. Morning and evening classes will be available.
