
Police have named the woman who died in a crash last week as a young mum from Catterick Garrison.
Naomi Buckle, 20, who had a young daughter, died in the collision which occurred at 2.15am on Friday, December 6 on the B6265 near Ripon.
A fundraising appeal set up by Naomi’s friends to show support has already raised more than £2,000.
The appeal says: “A few of us are doing this fundraiser to show our support to Naomi’s family at this devastating time, and so that Naomi can rest in peace knowing her family has support around them.
“Rest in peace you beautiful soul.”

Naomi was travelling in a white Audi RS3 which was travelling between Ripon and Risplith, when it was involved in a collision with a tree near to Grantley Hall.
Naomi died at the scene due to her injuries.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man from Richmond, was arrested in relation to the incident and has since been released under investigation.
Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen the white Audi RS3 at any time between 11pm and 2.15am, travelling from Catterick Village towards Risplith to contact them.
