Young classical musicians to perform in Leyburn

A concert by two of the country’s most promising young classical musicians is taking place in Leyburn, North Yorkshire later this month.

The Zetland Foundation is hosting the concert at the Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn on 31 October.

It will feature clarinetist Abi Heath and pianist Theresa Yu.

The concert will include a varied programme of works, selected by the pair who are both sponsored by The Zetland Foundation, created in 2000 as the personal project of The Marquess of Zetland.

The charity seeks to support, both financially and morally, talented young musicians as they prepare for their potential careers during the difficult period between raw talent and earning power.

Abi Heath is a Hertfordshire born clarinetist and a versatile and creative musician.

She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she completed both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees under a scholarship, finishing her postgraduate studies with distinction in 2017.

Theresa Yu is a young pianist from Australia who recently completed her four-year scholarship course at the Royal College of Music with high honours.

The programme for the concert is as follows:
