Young person rescued from basketball hoop

Firefighters were called to rescue a young person from a basketball hoop yesterday.

The incident happened in Forest Drive, Colburn, at about 5pm.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At request of police, Richmond crew assisted a youth back to ground safely after he had become stuck in a basketball hoop on a basketball court.”

  1. How can a young person need rescuing by the firefighters from a basket ball hoop which must have been 7 to 8 foot of the ground.

Let’s hope this young person is made to pay for the firefighters rescue and also named and shamed, if it wasn’t a genuine accident.
