Young trials bike riders get training

Richmond Motor Club hosted their annual Youth Training School at Cogden Hall, Grinton, on June 22.

A total of 33 riders enjoyed a day of riding with ACU-accredited trainers Katy Sunter Thorpe, Dan Thorpe, Matthew Maynard, Rob Waite, Jack Stones and Richard Sadler.

It was great to see a mixture of riding abilities, from those who had never ridden a trial before to others who were looking to get some further training for this year’s Mintex Youth Trophy Trial in September.

The riders were split into five groups based on ability and enjoyed four riding sessions during the day, each session with a different ACU-accredited trainer.

The sessions were based in different areas of Cogden Hall.

At the end of the day, the riders gathered to receive a photograph certificate each, taken on the day by Chloe Fowler, Callum Fowler and Charlotte Brown.

The trainers got together to decide on a rider from each group who stood out as trying hard and listening well throughout the day. Koby Smith, Henry Avison, Joseph Brown, Jacob Coates and Ned Fawcett each received a voucher for AG Bikes.

Richmond Motor Club would like to say a huge thank you to sponsors Belle Trailers and AG Bikes, and to Lawrence Allison as landowner, as well as the trainers, riders, secretary and assistants.
