Solicitors’ surprise after letter of thanks from MP

Lisa Potts presents a cheque to Elsa Taylor, from the Samaritans.

Staff at Hunton and Garget Solicitors say they are delighted to receive a letter from Richmond MP Rishi Sunak in recognition of their donation to their local Samaritans branch.

The Chancellor sent the note thanking the firm for supporting the organisation during the pandemic.

The Richmond-based solicitors handed over a cheque for £2,000 last month.

Managing partner Lisa Potts said the firm were always looking for ways to support the local community and with the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on mental health, they were really keen to do something to help.

“Samaritans literally provide a lifeline for those in need and with all of the usual fundraising activities on hold we wanted to offer a little support during these difficult months.

“To receive the letter was an unexpected surprise – it certainly makes a change from land deeds.”
